Week 8 Recap

Momentum shifts, playoff races tighten, and the stars shine bright.

Week 8 delivered high drama across the Fantasy Football Junkies League as contenders separated themselves from the pack and a few underdogs made noise. With the standings tightening up, every yard, every point, and every lineup decision mattered. Here’s the full breakdown of the week’s action and standout performances.

Goal Line Gaggers (4–4) vs. Lamar So Serious? (5–3)

Result: Lamar So Serious? wins 147.12 – 99.86
Steven L’s squad delivered one of the most dominant showings of the season, led by Jonathan Taylor (37.4 pts) and Saquon Barkley (33.4 pts) who combined for a monster backfield performance. Patrick Mahomes (22.96 pts) kept Ramiro G’s Gaggers in it early, but Lamar So Serious? pulled away behind an explosive offensive outburst that vaulted them up the standings.

Bang Bang Miner Gang (5–3) vs. Girthquake (3–5)

Result: Miner Gang wins 114.52 – 103.32
Jason G’s team continues to find ways to win. C.J. Stroud (21.72 pts) and Ladd McConkey (20.8 pts) led the charge, while the Tampa Bay D/ST (25 pts) nearly swung the game for Nick R’s Girthquake. Despite the loss, Girthquake showed flashes — but Miner Gang’s consistency proved the difference.

JT’s Dog House (1–7) vs. Its Allen The Hips (4–4)

Cesar C’s team went nuclear this week thanks to James Cook III (33.6 pts) and Tucker Kraft (33.3 pts), posting one of the highest team totals of the season. JT’s Dog House, led by Rome Odunze (18.4 pts), couldn’t keep pace as Allen The Hips clawed back to .500, keeping playoff hopes alive.

CEEDEEZ NUTS (5–3) vs. BigDawgs (5–3)

Result: CEEDEEZ NUTS wins 133.64 – 83.98
Jason C’s squad made a statement this week behind Breece Hall (32.86 pts). BigDawgs’ offense sputtered despite Bo Nix (23.78 pts) and Dallas Goedert (17.8 pts) putting up a solid effort. The win propels CEEDEEZ NUTS firmly into the top-four conversation as BigDawgs look to regroup heading into Week 9.

Aztecs (3–5) vs. AJ Stroud (3–5)

Result: AJ Stroud wins 114.26 – 110.46
This one came down to the wire. AJ S’s squad got a huge lift from Rashee Rice (25.5 pts) and Michael Pittman Jr. (23.5 pts) to narrowly edge out Justin R’s Aztecs, who were led by Jalen Hurts (25.36 pts). Both teams now sit at 3–5, still alive but in must-win territory moving forward.

Final Thoughts

Week 8 was all about separation. Horse Meats remains the team to beat, while Lamar So Serious?, CEEDEEZ NUTS, and Bang Bang Miner Gang continue to apply pressure near the top. Several .500 squads are fighting for their postseason lives, and every matchup moving forward will shape the playoff picture. With bye weeks, injuries, and momentum swings all in play — Week 9 could be the turning point of the season.
